Women’s Process & Support Group News- Feb. 2013, Written by Ilissa Banhazl, MFT, group facilitator

Join women's support group, Glendora

Look for the purple sofa!

This group is made up of 6 women who are committed to improving their lives by becoming whole again…We have room for 2 more…

We laugh at ourselves, cry together, generally support and “show up” for one another.

We’re learning to sit with our own uncomfortable feelings when someone else is hurting. We’re learning to listen with empathy and not rush to fix. Are you always trying to help and fix others in your own life? Ever wonder what that says about you? Come to group and learn why you do this plus a whole lot more about yourself and others.  Would you like to learn how to practice self-care?

Do you live in La Verne or San Dimas? Did you move from Glendora to San Dimas or vice versa? Or perhaps you live out east in Rancho Cucamonga or Claremont? Did you grow up in Covina, West Covina or Chino Hills? Wherever you live it’s a short drive to Glendora for a really special group of women.

Call for more information (626) 335-0903: Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7: 30pm. 8 week commitment. Fee: $45 per meeting, PPO Reimbursement.

Any topic relevant to women is welcome!

Group Therapy Teaches You About Yourself!

By Ilissa Banhazl, MFT

Group therapy is an interpersonal experience and an effective way to learn about yourself. The group environment is very much like your own little family. People naturally assume roles much like they did in their family of origin or in their present relationships. In group you will learn in respectable ways how people perceive you. This gives you the opportunity to choose your behaviors. You will have an opportunity to share and support others. You will learn from others new things you might want to try. You will definitely make friends!

I received some calls for my Divorce Group this week. Please call if you have an interest. We need more members to start this group.

Just a reminder that my Women’s Support Group will be start ing late September. Please call for more information. 626-335-0903.
